Chrome extension for Gmail

A Gmail send delay extension for longer Undo Send

Soft Send holds supported Gmail messages, including replies, for 1 minute to 1 hour, giving you time to reopen, edit, cancel, pause, or send immediately before delivery.

What Soft Send solvesGmail's built-in Undo Send stops at 30 seconds. Soft Send adds an automatic safety delay measured in minutes for supported messages sent from Gmail in desktop Chrome.

Why use a Gmail delay send extension?

Many email mistakes become obvious only after you press Send. You notice the wrong Alex in the recipient field, a missing file, a typo in an important proposal, or wording that sounds harsher than intended.

Gmail's built-in cancellation period can help if you react within 30 seconds. A Gmail send delay extension creates a longer review window by keeping the message unsent for a period you choose.

How Soft Send works

  1. You press Send on a supported message in Gmail on desktop Chrome.
  2. Soft Send applies local risk checks and starts the countdown.
  3. New messages without attachments can wait in the local extension queue. Replies, forwards, and attachments remain in the original Gmail composer.
  4. You can reopen and edit, cancel, pause, or send now.
  5. Sending an edited message starts a fresh delay.
  6. When time expires, Soft Send uses the Gmail API for eligible new messages or asks the original Gmail composer to perform the native send.

Soft Send does not run an email relay. Queue metadata and supported risk checks stay in the browser. API-eligible messages use Google's Gmail API, while native messages remain in Gmail.

Mistakes Soft Send can flag

Warnings are prompts to review, not guarantees that an email is safe. The sender remains responsible for recipients, content, files, and organizational policy.

Replies, attachments, and editing in version 1.2.0

Replies, forwards, and messages containing real file or inline attachments receive the longer Soft Send countdown while remaining in the original Gmail composer. This preserves conversation threading and attachments without requesting Gmail compose access. Keep that Gmail tab and draft open until delivery. If the composer is unavailable, Soft Send pauses the item instead of sending it incorrectly. The missing-attachment warning can still alert you when your text mentions a file but Gmail has no attachment chip.

Click a queued email to return it to Gmail for editing. Soft Send removes it from the queue only after Gmail confirms that the editor is available. If you send it again, the full delay starts again. Cancel also lets you choose between returning to editing, discarding permanently, and keeping the message queued.

Privacy and Gmail permissions

Soft Send uses Gmail send access only. Eligible new messages wait locally and are sent through Google's Gmail API when their timer expires. It cannot read the inbox or manage Gmail drafts through the Gmail API. Replies, forwards, and messages with attachments stay in the active Gmail composer for native delivery. No Soft Send server stores message content, and the extension does not operate a third-party delivery relay.

Read the complete Soft Send Privacy Policy before installing if you want the exact data handling and service-provider details.

Who is it useful for?

Soft Send is designed for people who regularly send important email from Gmail in Chrome, including freelancers, recruiters, account managers, founders, consultants, customer-facing teams, and anyone who has ever noticed a mistake just after the ordinary Undo link disappeared.

Free and Pro

Every new user receives a 14-day Pro trial without payment details. After the trial, Free keeps a 1-minute base delay, one queued email at a time, return to editing, Cancel, Send now, and the missing-attachment warning. Pro costs $14.99 once and adds longer and custom delays, an unlimited queue, Pause and Resume, advanced risk checks, and high-risk recipient lists. There is no subscription. Read the terms and refund policy.

Frequently asked questions

Is Soft Send the same as Gmail Schedule send?

No. Schedule send targets a chosen future time. Soft Send adds a short automatic safety delay after supported Send clicks.

Can Soft Send retrieve an email after delivery?

No. It prevents delivery during its queue window. It cannot remove an email that already reached the recipient.

Does Soft Send delay Gmail replies?

Yes. A queued reply stays in its original Gmail composer so Gmail can preserve the thread. Keep the Gmail tab and draft open until it sends.

Does it work on mobile?

No. The current extension supports Gmail in desktop Chrome.
